A wall hanger has been obtained from an old beam found in the rubble.
The beam was forged at Milan in 1948 inside the Breda factory.
1948. A fundamental year for Italy. The year of the Constitution. The year in which the nation is regenerated to new life.
However, this old steel profile is not only a witness to a bygone era.
This veteran of an industrial economy becomes an actor of the new circular economy.
In fact, the design concept it’s all about reuse.
In reuse, we operate before the material becomes a “waste”, intercepting it before any industrial recycling treatment.
In this almost ready-made object, the operations were:
1_Cutting with grinder of the selected beam’s section
2_ Elimination of cement traces by chisel
3_Removal of the paint with chemical stripper
4_ Mechanical cleaning of residuous paint mixed with rust
5 Mechanical lining of the alphanumeric characters
6_Drilling and bolting of 120 mm studded screws that act as coat hooks.
